Has anyone ever used the resin shelves they sell at Can Tire/Home Depot for holding tanks? They claim to be able to hold up to 500 lbs from what I've seen. I was thinking of using them for 5 or 10 gallon tanks. Has anyone tried?

I have used the ones from Costco.  I held a 25Gallon tank on it for a while.. Wasn't in a room that matters if water fell all over though.. But it held just fine.  The shelving unit I had was a little more sturdy then some of the cheaper ones out there.

This is what's holding my tank now (though mine are rated at 600lbs per shelf on the packaging, while the CT website ad claims 500lbs, with 5 shelf / unit)

[EDIT]: The shelves units I bought are made of metal; it's just the shelf's boards that are made of 1/2" resin.

Since my tank is 59g (an est. 700-800lbs) I put two halves of the shelf unit side-by-side, with a 1" foam board on top and placed the tank in the middle such that the weight is distributed evenly on both sides.

So far, it's all good and it's been there for the last 4 months.
