When you flush the RO unit, the pressure will drop because you are removing the pressure regulator on waste line.  The water is then supposed to surge through the waste line and take all the baddies with it.

well, my pressure goes from 80PSI to roughly 45PSI when I flush.  So I would expect a pressure drop of half roughly on yours as well?

Good questions... also how long should you flush for?

LMAO  I got a warped mind...

I usually only flush for 3-5 mins. was curious if this is enough.

I flush for 1 minute before and 1 minute after.

I flush for 3-5 minutes like Dan. If its yellow I'll let it mellow... kidding.

Good reminder, I haven't flushed my RODI in a while.

flushing a RO/DI???? im supposed to flush this thing? wish it came with instructions :) lol

how do i do a flush?

On a second note,  I think my pressure gauge is broken because it doesn't register anymore, i unplugged an re-plugged it and nothing, just since i moved. any suggestions? where can i get another?

(little off topic) AH HA HA funny thing i moved into my new apt on monday and i needed a bit of water for my tank. I make sure there are no leaks and everything is tight. im running a 2 way out of my laundry tap letting the wastewater drip into my washing machine. NOW ... If you do that make sure the discharge goes INTO the machine and not beside the ledge of the drum, dripping down onto your floor, while your gone doing groceries :)
