Thats it I've decided to keep my Biocube and upgrade it now that the 90 Gallon is up and running.

I've already (couple months ago) mod the back chamber to insert a Skimmer and the Heater. Gone are the Bioballs, Sponge Filter media and other Bio Stuff. Now lets focus on the Canopy.

I took out everything excepted the Fan's, and have ordered the Bio Cube LED kit from Modular LED. In there I'll be housing

2 3w RED LED, 2 Greens, 8 Cool White, 8 Royal Blue, 4 Blue.....and of course all this is dimmable.

Pict will follow shortly.

I'll let everyone know of it goes.

All the Equipment is in.
Bio Cube Canopy is cleared of all component except FAN.
I've drilled the Heatsink using 1/8 Drill bit
Bought #6 1.5 inch long metal screw that I've screew in the Heatsink and into the Canopy (into some of those long plastic brace) now take it easy here plastic can brake so take your time and enlarge the holes using the 1/8" drill bit en make sure you dont drive true the Canopy...depending on the heatsink you might need to cut off some extra nobs....beware dont cut the one for the clear plastic cover
The Heatsink is now secured in place.

Next glueing the LED Modules in place

The Final result is Realy Cool. I was not expecting that I would be that nive on the BioCube. Actually the color mix is better...way better. Any one considering building a LED light fixture this Modular LED is an interesting option. Maybe not cheap but the final result got me zapped.

Final Verdict ! I think I have a nice Frag tank to experiment !

Well that is all depend what you get ? First they are all Cree LED's, Second thing is those modules have 2 LED's each and there is connectors everywhere. So unless U decide to use soldering it's virtually snap and connect. I had LED's bar in the same cube before (3 Reef Brite) and (2 Current USA) all of those easly costed me 2 X more than that kit and the total brigtness was less that 1/2 what I have now and with the bars is was not even dimmable. SPS were surviving with the old solution. But about 2 months ago I've Converted my 90 Gallon to the Modular LED kit (3 feet)  and in the last month or so I can see at least 2 of my colonies growing very rapidly 1 montipora on the floor thank and one Blue Acropora that gained 1/4 of an inch since aquisition 4 weeks ago. The groth is amazing.....and I would not even dare comparing the result I got in the 90 Gallon with what I just got in the cube....I'll actually move my SPS frag in the Cube just to grow them. No fish just cleaning crew SPS frags and of course Reef roids.

We will see based on groth if the investment is worth it.....and I could still connect the meanwell drivers to my Apex Controller and and an extra module and controll the Dimming capacity automatically like I've done on the 90 Gallon Tank. I get Sunrise, Sun Set, Clouds.....the only thing missing really is lightning. The kit is very flexible and controllable just like those AI....and if a LED fries I just order an extra module for 10$ and replace it.....no big deal it's a 5 min thing.

Finally the LED colors are swapable you can mix and match your colors like U want.

Did a PAR reading on both LED Reef Tanks.

Biocube 29: on the Sand Bed the PAR is at 160 and 1 inch below the Surface it's 650, this is not bad considering there is no lens on my LED's in that Tank. The Blue LED's are running at 100% while the White / Green / Red is only at 50%.

The 90 Gallon Main Tank: on the Sand Bed the PAR reading is at 185 and 1 inch below the Surface it's 1100 in that system the LED's are equipped with Lens the Blue / Royal Blue LED's are running a 100% while the White / Green / Red is at 65%.  Not bad at all, I see some crazy growing on my Blue and Purple Acropora Colonies.
