Hello Everybody,

I want to start up a Salt Water tank and have been researching like crazy.  I was wondering what books you guys recommend to help choose livestock for a tank.  I like using the internet to do research, but nothing beats a goopd book that you can flip between species of fish etc.. to compare and help decide what to put in.

Thanks!

Glenn

Complete Encyclopedia of the Saltwater Aquarium

I bought this book about a year ago at the Chapters on Princess street. Great book  I learned alot from it; it has everything from starting out your new tank, including setup, need to know things you should buy, all the way to the advanced hobbyist.  Also lots of pages on actual invertabrates and fish with nice color pictures all the way through;
v
Very nice book not only for information but to flip through when your bored and want to see some nice pics.

Highly recommended; I think it was 50$ in chapters.

The two that I have worn out are:

1) Natural Reef Aquariums - John Tullock

2) Aquarium Corals - Eric Borneman

The two older books that I had at last month's auction are still available :)

This probably won't help the Glen too much as he lives in Kingston, but I thought I'd mention the OVAS library has a nice selection of marine aquarium books available for loan to members. You simply email requests to the librarian and he'll bring it to the next meeting.
List is on the main page of OVAS site:
