Any idea where I can purchase sho lights in the Ottawa area ? I got a blank look at Home Depot when I mentioned sho   :)

Maybe a hydrophonics place?

Found some online at Henry's photo > 110 watt cfl as modelling lamps. Not cheap at $38 each. Amazon also has some at cheaper prices. Worth contacting local hydroponics stores too.

I was at Lowes last night and saw some 300W equivalent CFLs (65w) for $18, and 200w equivalent CFLs for $10. Not sure if this equates to full SHO bulbs, but it's getting close.

ajm1961, I don't think so. I was using hi wattage CFs 10 years ago and they where not SHOs.

so after much research think ima go with the T5s over sho cfls just cos its the more popular system used. Also this whole lighting for a fw planted tank has become quite the dark subject between me n the fiancee so gotta rush and buy before i end up on the couch with my fishtank  ;D
