paradise gourami compatibility

Hey all, I currently have a black paradise gourami in my 55 gallon tank, and want to add a red paradise gourami. From what i've read online there is some debate as to whether you can have more then one of these fish in each tank. Does anyone have any experiance with these fish who can shed some light on this?

Hi Neon,

   I had an albino, a red and a black in a 125 gallon, and there was a definite pecking order to them in a 6 foot tank. The black was the dominant one and grew larger than the other two, and in the end I had to remove the albino, but the other two were fine together. Though there was a fair bit of chasing between them. Hard to say how well they would do in a 4 foot tank.
