Netting fish with barbels safely

Hi Everyone,

I finally moved my fish from the basement into their permanent home on the main floor.  When I caught the Ottos, two got caught in the net with their barbels and I snipped the net thread to free them.  Remembering that this happened when I moved to my Albino Bushynose, I caught him by putting a cup in the tank and chasing him into it and lifted him out of the tank in that to transfer him.

So, is there special nets for these types of fish so that they don't get caught in the nets and get hurt?  How do you guys catch your bushynoses and other same type fish?

Thanks

I picked up a net with very fine (white) mesh that I use on bettas.

I've used it catching pygmy cories. I can't recall if I had it when I got my panda cories.
Got it at Big Al's.
